Since January 1, 2009, The Collaboratory, led by founder Peter Benkendorf, has been a catalyst for collaborative civic innovation in Dayton. Starting with bringing Blue Sky Project from Chicago to organizing the 2009 Ten Living Cities Symposium in response to the 2008 Forbes Ten Fastest Dying Cities List. Over the past 15.5 years, The Collaboratory has hosted hundreds of community conversations, connected thousands of people and created, co-created or supported more than 100 community initiatives, including:
